Second Sites Session

Thoroughly enjoyed today - best session so far.  I found it incredibly useful to:

  • see other recommended sites
  • be able to ask our facilitator questions, Gerhard's answers were extremely useful
  • listen to other people's questions/see what they are doing on their sites.

This is what I have been missing so far with this course - possibly because of the on-line factor.  Examples given by other learners are always incredibly useful - they offer actual applications in a range of real life situations of what is being taught.  I realise this takes time away from the official presenters, but it is what I personally find most valuable.

I feel sufficiently energised and enthusiastic as a result of today to reach out to our Curriculum Leader of IT to suggest restarting our stalled project of converting the (rather huge) Ōtaki College classic site to a new google site.

Lots of inspiration - great stuff.

First Sites Session

Some useful info, but more teacher oriented than admin.

I decided to return to school whilst the text sessions were running as these seemed more about content than tools and, as it was Roll Return day, there were several tasks that simply had to be completed at College by the end of the day.

I was already familiar with the sites info that had been covered in the Chalk and Talk part of the morning but am looking forward to going deeper into this next time.  I was able to return to my Sandpit Site and explore this a little, once the roll return was out of the way.

I was particularly pleased to be able to embed 3 calendars as one.

The link to my site is as follows: https://sites.google.com/otakicollege.school.nz/vivs-sandpit-site/home
